An Uptight middle-aged Spinster crime novelist suffering with a writing block (Charlotte Rampling) is loaned the use of her publisher’s (whom she fancies a bit) secluded and lush French villa to help finish her latest book. He does not show up for an anticipated rendezvous as promised, but her peace and solitude are interrupted by the unexpected arrival of his sexy and lustful teen daughter, who is ready to unwind with booze, sex and nudity. The novelist does not hide her instant dislike of this intruder to her Shangri-la and Initial froideur turns to accommodation, but the writer decides to use the teens karnal activities to spice up her novel, much to the teens disgust when she casually snoops through the bedroom and finds the writer’s notes. Then, the teen’s trawl through local menfolk turns nasty when the waiter who rejects her is found floating face down in the pool. The Novelist helps the teen to cover up the death at some cost but also gets to use it in her novel. The story takes an unexpected turn at the end, a twist that will keep you guessing was it real or imagined?
